One of the lesser known Nintendo-exclusive handheld franchises is Fossil Fighters. The newest game, Fossil Fighters: Frontier, did just receive a release date, though, during Nintendo\’s latest Nintendo Direct presentation. The game is slotted for release on March 20th, which is the same day as Mario Party 10 releases on Wii U.
For those who do not know, Fossil Fighters is a series somewhere in the middle of Pokemon and Spectrobes. Players traverse the world, excavating the fossils of dinosaurs. After finding enough pieces, players can rebuild dinosaurs which fight on their team against other dinosaurs. This creates a fighting system that is very similar to Pokemon\’s, featuring RPG-like gameplay.
The last Fossil Fighters title, Fossil Fighters: Champions, release on the original DS back in 2011. The game received mixed scores from the critics, but this iteration may turn out for the better.
Will you be picking up Fossil Fighter, Mario Party 10, or both on March 20th? Will you be sitting out on both releases? Make sure to let us know in the comments below!
