Minecraft is a global phenom, but has been on the market for quite a while and available on many devices. The Wii U was very late to the party, so many were wondering how big of a splash Minecraft Wii U Edition would have. It appears that the late arrival hasn’t hurt Minecraft Wii U Edition too much, especially in Japan.
Minecraft Wii U Edition has only been out for a week in Japan, but has already managed to break into the Top 10 selling eShop games for the Wii U to date, coming in at number 9. That’s not a weekly number either, that’s of all time, which is very impressive. Japan has seen quite the rise in Wii U console sales as well lately, so Nintendo is finding a very solid groove in their home territory as of late.
