Developer, The Molasses Flood, have revealed that their first game, “The Flame In The Flood” will be available on Wednesday, February 24th. The Flame In The Flood started as a Kickstarter in October, 2014. Here is the elevator pitch from Kickstarter:
From the Art Director of BioShock and a team of veterans of the BioShock, Halo, Guitar Hero and Rock Band series comes The Flame in the Flood.
Travel by foot and by raft down a procedurally-generated river as you scrounge for resources, craft tools, remedy afflictions, evade the vicious wildlife, and most importantly, stay ahead of the coming rains.
The game looks amazing and has a fantastic soundtrack. It’s been described as a “Rogue-Lite”. You play as Scout, a young girl, and her dog called Aesop. Your mission is to scavenge and craft and survive. You will need to monitor Scout’s energy, thirst, and warmth. Neglecting any of these can lead to death. As with any Rogue-Like game, death is permanent, so if you die you will be starting over from the beginning. The object is to survive. We will have more coverage on The Flame In The Flood, including a full review, when the game launches later this month.
